The Lord gives

and the Lord takes away.

The economy has affected my work pension. It seems as though the $2500 salary and $1000 scholarship has gone down the tubes. TCAC, the corporation I was going to be getting paid through, sort of made a promise they couldn’t keep. They thought they would be able to finance 50 people when just last week they found out that they would only be able to finance 20. I was one of the unfortunate that was cut from the program.

Appalachian Outreach isn’t to blame. $175 a week is still going to be my salary like I signed up for. I talked to my mom about it and she said, “That scholarship and bumped up salary was just the icing on the cake. You still have the cake.”

That’s so true. The Lord gives and takes away. He hasn’t taken away everything which is only because of His grace and mercy. In these tough times, I’m surprised I was able to get this job despite the economy. Appalachian Outreach is doing all it can to see if they can give me more money. At this point, though, I’m just glad I still have the job and the money.

More to come May 18th, my Move-In Day!

Bienvenidos! Welcome!

Ya like my Spanish? haha

First post of this blog. I think I have three blogs so far haha. It’s pretty intense! This blog is mainly going to be used for my experience during my summer ministry internship in the Appalachian Mountains. I’ll be working with Appalachian Outreach, a ministry dedicated to helping those who live in the poor conditions that are the mountains. It was truly a blessing to be hired and I can’t wait to go work for them and the Lord.

I expect a deeper relationship with Jesus. I expect to be challenged and I’ll go on to say, even feel knocked down sometimes. It’s going to be hard, I know. I’m a freshman in college, a journalism major. I’ll be moving from my dorm room to Jefferson, Tennessee. There will be challenges but my God is bigger and will sustain me.

He called me to go. I am just so excited to begin! I’m getting $2500 for 10 weeks plus a $1000 scholarship for Belmont. God’s providing for me just like I believed He would! I’m ready to get this show on the road!

I won’t blog again until I’m moved in on May 18th. Don’t expect any posts until then and don’t not RSS me. You’ll be able to read a daily to weekly account of my experience. I want as many readers as possible and with God’s help I believe I’ll get them!

God bless, yall!
